ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has demanded that a committee comprising Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Shireen Mazari be constituted to inquire into violence against Shahbaz Gill.

Talking to media men after recording his statement on the matter of Shahbaz Gill in police headquarters, Saturday he said it is my personal opinion that inquiry into the matter of torture on Shahzad Gill be assigned to independent and neutral persons. No one will believe on Police inquiry.

He indicated Ali Awan and Raja Khurram have recorded their statements. Usman Dar too had met Shahbaz Gill and he too would record his statement.

We have no problem with cases, he remarked. However torture should not be allowed, he added.

Allegations are levied and cases are registered, he observed. But there should be no compromise on violence.

He underlined an independent inquiry is needed. It is my personal opinion that a committee comprising senior persons be constituted. Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar from PPP, Khawaja Saad Rafiq from PML-N and Shireen Mazari from PTI should be included in this committee. The committee should work out report on violence inflicted on Shahbaz Gill and bring the facts before the nation. Neither any other report except it is acceptable nor will any one accept it.
