Complete shutdown in IIOJK against BJP leader’s blasphemous remarks

SRINAGAR: Complete shutdown was observed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Friday to mark protest against Bharatya Jannata Party’s (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma’s blasphemous remarks.

According to a media report by Kashmir Media Service (KMS), internet services remained suspended by the Indian authorities in occupied valley.

“Meanwhile, locals took out a protest march at Lal Chowk, the heart of Srinagar city against the derogatory remarks of BJP leaders on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The protesters were demanding the stringent punishment against the BJP leaders,” KMS reported.

KMS reported that traders shut their shops and commercial hubs to protest against the BJP leaders’ derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The traffic on the roads was off while people were highly angry in the territory.
