Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) while issuing notice to respondents on contempt of court pleas against restrictions on meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan has sought reply within 3 weeks.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar took up contempt of court petitions against restrictions on meetings with Imran Khan for hearing.

As per media reports, the court while issuing notice to superintendent Adiala jail, home secretary Punjab, Advocate General (AG) Islamabad and AG Punjab sought reply from the respondents within 3 weeks.

The petitions were filed by Suleman Akram Raja and Mashal Yousufzai.

Counsel Aziz Bhindari told the court high court decision is not being implemented and appeal is pending hearing since long time.

During the hearing of the petition Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar inquired if the power of attorney is being filed.

The counsel took the plea appeal was filed through special attorney in the beginning.

The court was told that number was not marked on appeal till one month and power of attorney has not been received.

Justice Shahid Bilal remarked the bench will not be available in next week.

Upon it the counsel requested for early hearing of the case.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case for three weeks.
