Islamabad: Contempt of court petition has been filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for not arranging meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala jail despite court's orders.

It has been requested in the petition that contempt of court's proceedings be initiated against interior secretary Punjab Noor ul Amin Mengal and superintendent Adiala jail for not complying with court's orders.

Aleema Khan sister of Imran Khan filed contempt of court petition through Ali Bokhari advocate.

The petition said the court allowed for meetings with Imran Khan and issued formal orders in this regard. Jail authorities are not allowing to meet Imran Khan despite court's orders.

The petition said meeting with lawyers and family members is legal right for access to justice. The lists of lawyers, family members and friends were compiled.

It was further said in the petition PTI founder is former Prime Minister and he is facing jail trial in different cases.

On the other hand PTI has said Chief justices should ensure implementation of their orders.

Talking to media men in IHC, PTI leader Omar Ayub said a 3-member bench of this court had announced decision in connection with meeting with Imran Khan.

We associates of Imran Khan are going for meeting since three months. Definition of state was made in article 7. But laws are not implemented according to it.

Umar Ayub said bureaucracy should keep in mind PTI founder will become Prime Minister again. They will have to apologize for it again and again. The law is being trampled by not allowing to meet Imran Khan. Chief justices of superior courts should get implement their orders.

Shibli Faraz said under the order of 3-member bench of IHC. we had gone there but it was not implemented.

Family members are not being allowed to meet him since last 3 weeks.

PTI central leader Asad Qaisar said that taking Omar Ayub Khan, other senior leaders and sisters of Imran Khan into custody by police is condemnable.
