Lahore: The process for returning Ramzan Sugar Mills reference against Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and former chief minister Punjab Hamza Shehbaz Sharif to NAB has started.Ramzan Sugar Mills reference against Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz Sharif was heard by duty judge Zubair Shehzad Kiayani of Accountability Court (AC) Wednesday. In place of Shehbaz Sharif his pleader Anwar Hussain appeared in the court to sign rolls.It is pertinent to mention here the court has granted exemption to Shehbaz Sharif from attendance.Counsels filed one day exemption from attendance in respect of Hamza Shehbaz Sharif which was accepted.The counsels took the plea Hamza Shehbaz cannot appear in the court due to back ache. Doctors have advised Hamza Shehbaz for bed rest.Medical certificate of Hamza Shehbaz was also presented in the court.The lawyers took the plea reference is not maintainable after restoration of NAB amendment bill by Supreme Court. AC has now no powers to hear it.The court remarked th e accused should file petitions for returning Ramzan Sugar Mills reference to NAB.The court adjourned the hearing of the reference till October 01.
