Rawalpindi: The court has awarded 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) each to five persons in corruption case.According to media reports Special Court ( central) Rawalpindi has awarded punishment to five accused in FIA corruption case under different clauses .Those who have been convicted and sentenced include Zeeshan Ali Akbar,Nazar Hussain, Ishtiaq Ahmad, Jahangir Ahmad and Saqib Zaheer.All the accused have been awarded 10 years RI each under clause 5 (2) of Anti Corruption Act 1947.Under section 161 PPC every accused was awarded three years RI . Under section 162 PPC every accused was awarded 3 years RI too .Under section 163 PPC every accused was awarded one year RI.The court while ordering to run all sentences concurrently gave the benefit of section B-382 of criminal procedure to the accused persons.The court also ordered to forfeit Rs 10475000 recovered from the accused in favor of government .The forfeited amount was recovered from all the five accused.Special judge central Rawalpin di Abdul Rehman Muhammad Arif issued warrants for transferring all the convicts to Central Jail Rawalpindi immediately.It is pertinent to mention here this case was registered in FIA anti corruption circle Islamabad.
