Lahore: Special Central Court (SCC) Lahore has given time to counsel for preparations in connection with acquittal plea of former Chief Minsiter (CM) Punjab Pervaiz Elahi in money laundering case.
Judge Arif Khan Niazi of SCC Lahore took up acquittal plea of Pervaiz Elahi in money laundering case for hearing Tuesday.
Former CM Punjab appeared in the court.
Special prosecutor Muhammad Ayaz Butt appeared on behalf of FIA.
During the hearing of the case court inquired from the counsel of Pervaiz Elahi some assistance is required in respect of certain legal things. Prosecution has alleged Pervaiz Elahi accumulated illegal assets by misusing public office.
The court remarked prosecution has alleged companies were made for money laundering.
Junior counsel of Pervaiz Elahi said the counsel Amir Saeed Ran is contesting election of Pakistan Bar Council. Therefore, court should give time. Court will be assisted on next hearing on these points.
The court gave time to the counsel for preparations on the acquittal plea of Pervaiz Elahi.
The court adjourned hearing of money laundering case against Pervaiz Elahi and others till December 18.
