Karachi: Additional District and Sessions Judge Central has issued non bailable arrest warrants of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Central for non appearance in connection with petition filed by 72 persons who were evacuated during construction of Lyari Expressway.The court ordered police to arrest and present Deputy Commissioner till September 15.The court also called additional secretary local bodies. 72 leased homes were demolished during construction of Lyari Expressway.Sessions court had ordered in 2021 to pay Rs 32 crore to the affectees.The hearing of the case was started again on appeal plea of Sindh government.The court had directed Sindh government to make payment to the affectees.The court had ordered DC Central for making payment on implementation petition.DC central did not appear in the court despite notices.Upon it court issued arrest warrants.
