Rawalpindi: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has nullified the death sentence of 4 accused in blasphemy case.
As per media reports, the court ordered for releasing all the four accused persons.
It is pertinent to mention here that all the four accused including Faizan Razzaq, Usman Liaqat, Wazir Gul and Amin Raees are imprisoned in Adiala jail.
Additional district and sessions judge Rawalpindi had awarded death sentence to the four accused in 2023 in blasphemy case.
The court had imposed Rs 1 lac fine each on all four accused persons.
FIA Cyber Crime Wing had registered case against the accused. The accused persons were charged with uploading posts against sacred personalities.
LHC Rawalpindi division bench ordered to acquit the accused on technical grounds.
The court said in its decisions forensic has not been conducted of mobile phone that it is owned by whom.
Investigation is must on all technical aspects for the sake of transparent investigation of the case.
The court ordered that the accused be released forthwith if they are not arrested in any other case.
