Karachi: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent 2 lawyers arrested in attempt to murder and murder case to jail on judicial remand while rejecting police plea seeking their physical remand.

The court while sending 2 lawyers including Idrees and Suleman to jail on physical remand has sought challan of the case from investigation officer.

During the hearing of the case the accused took the plea they are arrested in other case on termination of one case. They struggle for justice and today they are being punished.

Amir Nawaz Warraich counsel for the accused took the plea in the court that the case relates to 2022 and not even a single evidence is there about this case. The case has been registered under political victimization and conspiracy is being hatched against the lawyers.

He said these lawyers were early appearing as counsels in Korangi rally case. In this case all the accused were acquitted but now these lawyers are being presented by making them accused.

The investigation officer told the court the accused were arrested on identification of special informer. Transit remand in respect of them had been obtained a day before.

The court was informed that one passerby was killed and several were injured in firing between two groups in Landhi.

Physical remand for further investigation is needed in this case.

The court inquired from the investigation officer when the accused were already in their custody then why the investigation was not made from them. What is reason for seeking physical remand.

The court while rejecting the plea for physical remand ordered to send both of the accused to jail on judicial remand.

The court sought challan of the case from investigation officer on next hearing.
