“Dangerous drop of State Bank reserves,” Asad cautions

ISLAMABAD: Former Federal Minister and PTI Secretary General Asad Umar came down hard on the government Friday for current economic turmoil in country.

 

“Dangerous drop of $0.5 billion in state bank reserves last week,” Asad wrote in his tweet on Friday, adding that “Another $100 million drop” was also recorded in private deposits since this collation government took charge.

 

Former Planning Minister also shared reasons behind Rupee’s downfall against the US Dollar. “Total drop in reserves since moving of VNC is now $7.5 billion! This is why rupee is losing value rapidly,” he wrote.

 

“Price nation is paying for regime change keeps increasing,” Asad concluded his tweet, hitting out at the PML-N led coalition government, calling it a result of “regime change operation”.
