Peshawar: KP governor has filed petition in Peshawar High Court (PHC) against making Chief Minister (CM) KP its chairman by Board of Governors (BOG) of Edwards college Peshawar.

CK KP and others have been made respondents in the petition.

Governor KP has filed the petition through Shumail Ahmad Butt and Sheeraz Butt.

The petition said as per law the power of Edward college BOG chairman rests with the governor.

It was further said in the petition as per 1974 law declaration governor will be chairman of board of governors. The clear decisions of Supreme Court (SC) are there in this regard.

CM KP has been appointed chairman BOG under KP Educational and Training institute -1971 in the cabinet meeting. Under this law governor is controlling authority.

The court has been requested through petition to nullify the decision of provincial government.
