Dense fog engulfs several cities in Punjab

LAHORE: Several cities of Punjab including Lahore remained in the grip of dense fog again on night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The dense fog rendered routine life paralyzed and road and air traffic disrupted.

The harsh weather condition affected the flight operation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and Multan Airport amid the reports that several incoming flights were diverted to other airports while outgoing flights were either delayed or cancelled.

The thick fog has badly affected the flow of road traffic in several cities.

The Motorway spokesperson said , the Motorway M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, Lahore-Multan Motorway M3 from Faizpur to Darkhana, Motorway M4 from Faisalabad to Abdul Hakim, Motorway M5 from Shershah to Taranda Muhammad Panah and Motorway M11 from Lahore to Sialkot have been closed for all kind of traffic.

The Motorway police have appealed the drivers to use Grand Trunk (GT) Road for travelling. They have also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights.

People have been requested to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
