Dismissal of DG PSB case: IHC issues notices to PM, other respondents


ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing notice to respondents on the petition against the dismissal of Shoaib Khoso Director General (DG) Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has sought reply from them.

IHC has issued notices to Prime Minister (PM), secretary establishment and secretary ministry of inter-provincial coordination.

The petition filed against the dismissal of Shoaib Khoso came up for hearing before Justice Babar Sattar of IHC Monday.

Shoaib Shaheen Advocate took the plea while arguing on behalf of former DG that Shoaib Khoso was removed for not complying with illegal orders.

No one will be able to work freely if one is removed from one’s post this way. It has been made clear in Supreme Court (SC) decision one junior officer Shahid ul Salam was appointed as DG PSB.

Shahid ul Salam transferred several officers from ministry on the directives of federal secretary. High court issued stay order against the illegal orders of Secretary IPC. Secretary interprovincial coordination ministry w
as annoyed over taking the matter to high court. Shoaib Khosa was also removed for not complying with illegal orders.

Justice Babar Sattar inquired what is the procedure of appointing DG PSB.

The counsel said the procedure is clear in PSB ordinance 1962. Prime Minister accords approval to DG PSB.

Upon it justice Babar Sattar issued notices to the respondents.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till April 30.
