Dr Fouzia Siddiqui leaves for US to meet her sister Dr Aafia Siddiqui

KARACHI: Dr Fouzia Siddiqui along with senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has left Karachi for US to meet her sister Dr Aafia Siddiqui in US jail.

Clive Stafford Smith, counsel in Dr Aafia case has also left UK to reach Dubai to join Dr Aafia Siddiqui rehai caravan.

Talking to media men Dr Fouzia Siddiqui said she is travelling to US to meet her innocent sister after 20 years. I hope we both sisters will be allowed to embrace and inquire about welfare of each other freely.

The difficult phase of the meeting is the one when Dr Aafia Siddiqui will be informed about the death of her mother.

She appealed to nation to pray that the door to be opened to meet Dr Aafia Siddiqui in jail be opened for release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

I will continue to inform the nation about all the situation from time to time, she observed.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said this is most vital phase of the longest endeavors aimed for bringing Dr Aafia Siddiqui to Pakistan.

He said we are leaving Karachi for US to meet Dr Aafia Siddiqui. But threatening messages have been received by family members of Dr Aafia from some unknown sources which are shameful and source of grave concern.

He said that federal government should ensure security of Dr Fouzia Siddiqui and her family members in every possible way.

Dr Clive Stafford Smith counsel in Dr Aafia Siddiqui case said we are travelling to US to meet Dr Aafia Siddiqui. I hope our journey for release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui will meet success. We are heading towards freedom of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, he added.
