Islamabad: Election Commission (EC) has reserved judgment in violation of election code of conduct case against Chief Minister (CM) KP Sohail Afridi.

The case pertaining to violation of election code of conduct and threatening election staff by CM KP came up for hearing before a five members EC bench presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Tuesday.

Sajeel Swati counsel for petitioner Babar Nawaz and Ali Bukhari counsel for Sohail Afridi appeared before EC.

The counsel Sajeel told the EC while giving arguments that schedule of by polls in respect of NA-18 . Hari Pur was issued on October 8, 2025. All the matters from election schedule to the notification of success fall under jurisdiction powers of EC.

He said four days before by election CM KP addressed a public meeting in Chamba on November 19, 2025.

Terming the polls a test he said Omar Ayub competition is with his wife and wife will secure more votes.

The counsel said CM gave message to police and administration if hooliganism is committed or attempt is made to manipulate voting on November 23 then they will not see the light of morning and darkness of night.

The counsel said this threatening statement was tantamount to pressurize election staff and voters. This is violation of constitution, election act and election code of conduct. CM participated in election campaign which is prohibited under constitution. He violated his oath. If Sohail Afridi is let off then it will set a wrong precedent.

The judgment was reserved after hearing more arguments.
