Islamabad: Election Commission (EC) has stopped the notification regarding success of brother of state minister for interior Talal Chaudhry for violating election code of conduct.

The case of violating election code of conduct against state minister Tala Chaudhry came up for hearing in EC .

State minister did not appear and he sent his counsel.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja said EC has stopped the notification regarding success of Bilal Chaudhry , brother of state minister Talal Chaudhry. We donot disqualify Bilal Chaudhry just now We are stopping notification for his success.

A 4-member bench of EC presided over by CEC took up for hearing the case on violating the election code of conduct.

Commission authorities said Talal Chaudhry committed violation of code of conduct. Stern action be taken against state minister Talal Chaudhry.

CEC said state minister violated the code of conduct and he did not even take bother to come.

Commission authorities informed EC has taken action against a candidate and a minister in the past. The state minister was directed to appear in person.

Counsel for Talal Chaudhry told Talal Chaudhry contacted him that he would appear before the EC.

The EC adjourned the hearing of case pertaining to violation of election code of conduct against Talal Chaudhry till Thursday.
