Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to hold Local Bodies (LB) polls in Islamabad.

According to reserved judgment issued by ECP , Returning Officer (RO) , Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) or Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) can be appointed by ECP from government officers, judiciary or government department .

It is pertinent to mention here the term of Local government in Islamabad had completed on February 14, 2021.

It is binding on ECP to hold LB polls within 120 days of completion of term of local government. Despite it LB polls have not been held so far after 2021.
