Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to hold Local Bodies (LB) polls in Punjab in the month of December this year.
As per media reports, a 4-member bench of ECP under Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) had reserved judgment after hearing the case regarding delay in LB polls in Punjab.
According to ECP decision LB polls will be held in the last week of December in accordance with LB law 2022.
The ECP while ordering to complete delimitations within two months said the work on local bodies delimitation be started forthwith.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) said a federal minister gave statement a day before that they are ready for LB polls in Punjab and Islamabad but ECP is delaying. While real delay is being made by governments.
