Lahore: JI Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has said it will be decided through a referendum now if the electricity bills have to be paid or otherwise.He said this while addressing a press conference here in Mansoora Tuesday.I am announcing second phase of " Haq do awam ko" movement. This is movement for giving rights and relief to people. This movement is against inflated electricity bills, price of petroleum products and taxes on the salaries.Small vehicles be given to ministers and their privileges be abolished.Billons of rupees are being paid to IPPs annually. Electricity was generated but was not consumed. Its cost is being paid by the people. On one side taxes are being recovered from salaried class and on the other side tax exemption was given to some IPPs which runs into billion of rupees.He held nation is paying tax in the form of inflation, atta, sugar and electricity bills.Taxes are imposed to grant exemption to feudalists, land lords and IPPs in taxes.He underlined JI is going to la unch new movement on completion of 45 days. Larger demonstrations will be held in different cities from September 29. We will attribute one week from October 1-7 in the name of people of Gaza and Lebanon.We will launch new resistance movement after October 7. We will stage protest dharnas and rallies.We have option for million march which can transform into long march.Had JI not launched movement government would not have given relief of Rs 14 per unit and instead they would have raised the tariff of electricity further, he held.
