Islamabad: Electricity tariff is likely to be scaled down by paisas 63 per unit. CPPA has filed the application seeking reduction in electricity tariff by paisas 63 per unit in NEPRA. NEPRA will hear the application on December 31. According to CPPA application 7.71 billion units electricity was generated in previous month and production cost remained Rs 55.76 billion. Electricity at the cost of Rs 23,20 per unit was produced from LNG. Electricity was imported from Iran at the cost of Rs 27.15 per unit. The cost of electricity per unit generated from coal stood at Rs 14.92. Through nuclear sources electricity was generated at the cost of Rs 1.73 per unit. Average production cost of electricity per unit remained Rs 7.28 per unit in last month.
