Elite police training to begin at NPA from this year: Mohsin Naqvi


Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Police Academy and chaired a high-level meeting. During the visit, he reviewed the ongoing construction work of the



under-construction multi-storey hostel at the academy and also inspected the model room established in the hostel. The Interior Minister directed that the model room be further upgraded and improved.



Mohsin Naqvi assigned a deadline of May 31 for completion of the Elite Police Training School project. He stated that from this year onwards, elite training of officers would be conducted at the National Police Academy instead of in the provinces.



The Interior Minister also issued directives for the installation of a solar system and renovation of the existing academy building. It was decided to establish three new IT-equipped classrooms for modern training facilities at the academy.



Mohsin Naqvi directed that officers should be trained through drones, night vision equipment, and modern weaponry. He further emphasized that promotional courses should be aligned with modern requirements and focused on service delivery.



The Interior Minister also directed the establishment of a driving school at the NPA, where officers would receive training in modern driving and car chase techniques. He said that crime scene rooms should also be established to further improve investigative capabilities. ½He additionally instructed the establishment of padel tennis courts at the academy. He also inspected the sports complex, gymnasium, and swimming pool, and directed that the sports complex be upgraded on modern lines.



Commandant National Police Academy briefed the Federal Interior Minister in detail regarding the progress on various projects. IG Islamabad Police, DG FIA and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
