Rawalpindi: Judge Sheikh Ejaz Ali of Accountability Court (AC) Rawalpindi has approved exemption plea for one day in respect of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in the reference related to embezzlement of 6000 kanals land of forest department.

The court has reserved judgment on the plea for permanent exemption from the attendance following completion of hearing of the plea.

Further hearing in regard to reference will take place on June 5.

Pervazi Elahi did not appear in the court.

Counsels of Pervaiz Elahi took the stance in exemption plea that he cannot appear in the court being unwell.

The counsels for the respondents on the petition seeking permanent exemption gave arguments.

The court while reserving judgment on the petition adjourned the hearing till June 5.

NAB had nominated 14 persons including Pervaiz Elahi accused in the reference.
