Muzaffarabad: A two-day exhibition of the pictorial book 'Kashmir: Wait and See' by European photo-journalist Cédric Gerbehaye on Kashmir was held in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The exhibition, held at the Prime Minister's House, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.The book's author, Cédric Gerbehaye, and the Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed, who is also the organizer of the book's introductory and promotional events and exhibitions in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, were present on the occasion. In addition, the inaugural ceremony was attended by human rights activist Marjan Lucas from the Netherlands and Hungarian intellectual Andre Bárcs, who were part of the European delegation, and other prominent personalities and government officials of Azad Kashmir. A Korean delegation also visited the exhibition of the book.Prime Minister Faisal Rathore praised the publication of the book and commended the role of the boo k's author Sedric Gerbhaye and KCEU's Ali Raza Syed and his team in its publication and promotion.He said he hoped that the publication of this book and the exhibition of the photographs contained within it would yield positive results in highlighting the rights of Kashmiris and the Kashmir issue.Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, also visited the exhibition and met with the book's author and organizers, including Ali Raza Syed. The book's author, Cédric Gerbehaye, Chairman of the Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed, and other organizers and the European delegation also met with the Acting President of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Latif Akbar.Cédric Gerbehaye, who is from Belgium, completed this book over the past eight years. It includes photographs from Indian-occupied Kashmir, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The book also contains pictures of victims of Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally occupied Kashmir, particularly those injured by pellet guns, and residents of Azad Kashmir living near the Line of Control who have been targeted by unprovoked Indian gunfire.Promotional events for the book and an exhibition of its photographs were also held earlier this week in the Pakistan federal capital, Islamabad. The exhibition and events at the Pakistan National Council of Arts in Islamabad were attended by numerous important political, social, diplomatic, academic, and literary figures, as well as university students. The book also depicts the daily life and culture of people from both parts of Kashmir, including Gilgit-Baltistan. The Kashmir Council Europe has played a key role from the inception to the completion of this book project and in organizing related events.Those who attended and visited the promotional events and exhibitions in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad described these events as an effective effort to highlight the Kashmir issue globally.Ali Raza Syed, who is currently visiting Pakistan and Azad Kashmir for organizing these events, stated that the KCEU played a significant role in the preparation and publication of the book and has also been instrumental in introducing it in Europe and Pakistan.The book exhibition will be held on February 1st and 2nd at the Mirpur University of Science and Technology in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, and from February 5th to 10th at the National College of Arts in Lahore.
