Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has reserved judgment on the petitions against illegal constructions on M-9 Motorway.SHC constitutional bench reserved judgment on 5 petitions against the illegal construction of bus terminal and petrol pump on service road along side motorway following the completion of arguments of the respondents.The petitioners took the plea construction activities are underway near Al-Asif square.Counsel for FWO said the claim of 150 feet service road is baseless because this is equal to 10 lanes road. Faisal Highway too is not 150 feet wide.Justice Sana Akram Minhas remarked Faisal Highways is not an international standard.The court raised question is provision of light facility on motorway is part of project.The counsel said arrangements for lighting are included in the agreement reached with NHA.The counsel for the petitioners took the plea real priority is being given to commercial activities and not provision of basic facilities to the passengers.The court reserved ju dgment on five petitions following the completion of arguments of the respondents.The other petitions were separated.
