Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to install water recycling plants in service stations all over Punjab.
The court has issued directive that deputy commissioners all over Punjab should ensure implementation of court's orders immediately.
Justice Shahid Karim of LHC took up for hearing the petitions related to eradication of smog Friday.
Report regarding restoration of water management plant of district Kasur was presented in the court.
The court remarked diseases are spreading due to closure of water management plant in Kasur. The newly born children in Kasur are suffering from diseases. Children and elders are suffering from fatal diseases being the water of Kasur unclean. Now the water treatment plant will have to be restored so that tanneries water is cleansed.
Report was presented in the court CBD has constructed water tank to store rainy water. The water stored by CBD will be used for cleanliness of roads and watering plants.
The court remarked this is good step by CBD.
Counsel for environment department told the court EPA teams have started working to prevent burning remnants of crop on motorway. Whosoever burns remnant of crops on motorway side are being challaned.
The LHC while seeking report from the respective departments adjourned hearing of the case till next Friday.
