Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while hearing the petitions by two accused Abdul Jabbar and Najam ul Zaman in fake accounts case has directed Accountability Court (AC) to decide about jurisdiction within 15 days in the light of NAB amendments. .
IHC remarked AC should decide within 15 days this case falls under whose jurisdiction.
Petitions filed by accused Abdul Jabbar and Najam ul Zaman came up for hearing before Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif Thursday.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro called Special prosecutor NAB Rafay Maqsood who was present in the court to rostrum and inquired he should tell why the decision is not being taken on the matter of jurisdiction.
NAB prosecutor told the court their petitions are pending hearing in AC.
The court remarked we are giving direction to trial court to decide the matter of jurisdiction within 15 days.
Farooq H Naik counsel for the petitioner told the court all the cases have been shifted to Karachi after NAB amendments. Some cases were shifted to anti corruption and some to FIA. These two cases have not been transferred. Judges are not making any decision since the last 11 months. The accused have to come from Karachi. They have now no money to pay fare.
NAB prosecutor Rafay Maqsood said the Supreme Court had said about these cases that corruption of billion of rupees has been committed.
The court while directing trial court to decide about jurisdiction within 15 days adjourned the hearing of the case.
