Farhat Ali Mir urges media to play significant role in making AJK General Elections transparent

MUZAFFARABAD: Member Election Commission Azad Jammu and Kashmir Farhat Ali Mir says all set for holding free, fair and transparent elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Friday, Farhat Ali Mir said Kashmiri voters living in any city of Pakistan are also eligible to exercise their vote.

He said that Pakistan Army has been deployed at the request of the Election Commission during the election to ensure peaceful election process.

He said that 3220732 including 1752753 male and 1467989 female voters exercise their right to vote to elect members of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly for next tenure.

He said that there are 45 constituencies including 33 in AJK districts and 12 meant of Jammu and Kashmir refugees settled in various parts of Pakistan.

He said that election schedule for 8 reserved seats will also be announced after general elections. The member Election Commission AJK urged the media to play a significant role in making AJK general elections transparent, free and fair.
