Islamabad: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has formed rules for declaring their assets by officers of grade-17 and above besides introducing important amendments in rules under income tax ordinance -2001. This way federal government has met another important condition of IMF.
The word public servant in place of civil servant has been included. New definition of public servant has been made part of rules. The persons exempted under National Accountability Ordinance will not be included. New rules are aimed at making assets sharing system more transparent.
As per rules officers of grade-17 and above will have to make details of their assets public annually. Public servants include grade 17 officers and above of federal, provincial government, autonomous bodies and corporations.
Officers of the companies owned by the government will also be public servant now.
According to notification officials appointed on SPPS scale will have to declare their assets. Officials appointed on PSP will have to declare their assets like government officers.
According to FBR notification amendments have been made to make the rules comprehensive and uniform.
