Senate Sub-Committee Expresses Concern Over Contracts Awarded to NXCC and RADC

Islamabad: The Sub-Committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Communications convened today under the chairmanship of Senator Kamil Ali Agha to review concerns regarding contracts awarded to NXCC and RADC. Senators Zamir Ahmed Ghumro and Saifullah Abro also attended the meeting.

Members of the Sub-Committee raised serious concerns over the absence of senior management from the relevant departments, noting that junior officers present provided misleading or incomplete statements.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha sought clarification on a letter reportedly sent by the National Highway Authority (NHA) to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and expressed serious concern over the awarding of the Tranche-III project contract to NXCC. He directed NHA to submit all documents presented before the court in the case pertaining to NXCC and summoned the consultant firm hired for the Tranche-III project to provide a detailed briefing in the next meeting.

Senator Saifullah Abro highlighted that RADC is a sister company of NXCC and requested detailed information regarding the contract awarded to RADC for rehabilitation works under the Lodhran-Multan project.

The Sub-Committee resolved to continue its examination of these matters and directed the NHA to ensure the presence of senior management at the next meeting to provide accurate and transparent briefings.
