Islamabad: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has ordered the respondents to file written submissions within five days in Arshid Sharif murder case.

Mention of murder case of MQM leader Umar Farooq in London was also made during the hearing of the case.

FCC heard Arshid Sharif murder case on Wednesday.

Justice Aamir Farooq remarked we will issue proper order on it. It is fact investigation process is very slow. We don't want to put blame on any one.

The counsel of widow of Arshid Sharif said commission was constituted on basis of suo motu and investigation is underway still.

Justice Aamir Farooq inquired from the counsel what has been done in Kenya so far.

Counsel replied we had registered case in Kenya and it was decided in our favor. We had requested the court in Kenya to make the case a murder case. Kenya court had ordered to hold investigation.

The counsel said no progress has been made so far in the investigation in Kenya. It is our request to government of Pakistan and our objective to come to this court is this government should stand with us. There is difference in approaching by us and approaching by the government.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) Aamir Rehman said JIT report was presented in the court. At the start Kenyan government had refused to extend help in investigation. MLA was reached between the two countries in September last year. When Kenyan government will ask us for further investigation we will send our team to the scene.

Justice Aamir Farooq inquired from AAG now the basic question is this what we can do in this case. What can be done after the agreement between the two countries.

AAG replied we will go to the scene. What evidence will be provided by Kenyan government.

He said we have filed challan. Two accused have been nominated.

Justice Aamir Farooq said both the accused are arrested in Kenya.

AAG said no they are in Kenya now. We have issued their black warrants.

Justice Aamir Farooq inquired now they can be arrested through Interpol.

AAG said yes we have written to Interpol. Investigation in Pakistan has been completed at present.

AAG said Prime Minister himself had himself contacted president of Kenya by telephone. It is our endeavor to complete the investigation as soon as possible.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till the filing of written submissions.
