Federal govt,others put on notice in case against presidential ordinance of amendments

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to federal government and other respondents in case against presidential ordinance of amendments to NAB law besides seeking reply from them.The court summoned Attorney General (AG) on next hearing as amicus curiae.Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of LHC took up for hearing petition against presidential ordinance of amendments Friday.Azhar Siddique counsel for Munir Ahmad petitioner gave arguments.The petitioner took the plea presidential ordinance can be promulgated in emergency situation. But amendments were made to pressurize PTI founder Imran Khan.The petition said ordinance has been promulgated by acting president to serve political purposes. Several big references will be affected due to NAB amendments which will give rise to anarchy.The court was requested to nullify the amendments made to NAB law through presidential ordinance.
