Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, held a series of high-level engagements in Istanbul during his official visit to Trkiye.According to ISPR, the COAS and CDF separately met Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Minister of National Defence Yasar Gler and Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroglu.During the engagements, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence cooperation and the regional security environment were discussed.Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence.The meeting brought together senior representatives of Pakistan, Trkiye and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.The three sides reviewed avenues for further strengthening strategic coordination and defence cooperation among the three brotherly countries.According to ISPR, the engagements reflected the close bonds of brotherhood and the growing strategic and defence cooperation between Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Trkiye.
