Istanbul: Minister of Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Minister of National Defence of Trkiye Yasar Gler held a meeting in Istanbul Monday.

The meeting was held prior to inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee, established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Trkiye.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif and the Turkish leadership agreed to enhance joint defence cooperation in the region.

Chief of the General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces, General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, also attended the meeting.
