Rawalpindi: Security Forces foiled major infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as movements of two large groups of Khwarij were detected opposite the general areas of Ghaki in Kurram District and Spinwam in North Waziristan District on the night of October 24-25.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), own troops effectively engaged the infiltrators. As a result of precise and skillful operations, fifteen Khwarij, including four suicide bombers belonging to the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al Khwarij, were killed in Spinwam, North Waziristan District, while another ten were eliminated in Ghaki, Kurram District. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered.

During intense exchanges of fire, five brave soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced Shahadat after fighting gallantly. The martyred soldiers were identified as Havildar Manzoor Hussain (35, District Ghizar), Sepoy Nauman Ilyas Kiyani (23, District Poonch), Sepoy Muhammad Adil (24, District Kasur), Sepoy Shah Jehan (25, District Vehari), and Sepoy Ali Asghar (25, District Pakpattan).

The ISPR noted that these infiltration attempts by Fitna al Khwarij coincided with ongoing talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Trkiye, casting doubts on the intentions of the Interim Afghan Government to address terrorism emanating from its soil. Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan authorities to ensure effective border management and fulfill their Doha Agreement obligations by denying the use of Afghan territory by terrorists against Pakistan.

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan's Security Forces remain resolute in defending the nation's frontiers and that the sacrifices of the martyrs further strengthen their resolve. Sanitization operations are underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the area as part of the ongoing Counter-Terrorism campaign 'Azm-e-Istehkam,' being executed under the National Action Plan to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
