Karachi: First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya on Saturday discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia across diverse sectors.

The meeting, held in Karachi, focused on women's empowerment, climate resilience, social welfare, sustainable development, and the promotion of people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Highlighting climate change as a shared global challenge, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari noted that vulnerable communities are increasingly exposed to extreme weather events. She emphasized the importance of climate-resilient and climate-friendly housing, particularly for low-income populations, describing it as a critical tool for disaster preparedness, post-disaster recovery, and long-term sustainability.

The Indonesian Vice Minister expressed keen interest in learning from Sindh's experience in large-scale climate-resilient housing initiatives and welcomed the opportunity to explore structured bilateral cooperation in this area.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration and strengthening bilateral relations through practical initiatives and shared experiences.
