Islamabad: NAB Court No 2 Islamabad has discharged several accused persons including former Prime Minister (PM) Raja Pervez Ashraf in Rental Power references.
NAB court No 2 has announced decisions of 3 important references. Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich announced decisions in 3 references filed under rental power projects.
11 accused including Raja Pervez Ashraf have been discharged.
The Karkey reference had alleged corruption worth Rs22 billion.
The Turkish company, Karkey Karadeniz Elektrik Uretim, had once filed a claim of Rs200 billion in damages against Pakistan, which was later withdrawn following government-level intervention.
In the second case - the Bhekhi Power Project reference related to the Sheikhupura-based project - six accused, including the former WAPDA chairman, were discharged. The Bhekhi project had been valued at approximately Rs 96 billion.
The court also discharged the accused from Sharaqpur power reference.
The court announced decisions of Sharaqpur Bhekhi and Karkey references.
