Four more militants killed in Operation Shaban, toll rises to 71, security sources say

Quetta: Four more militants were killed during the ongoing joint Operation Shaban being carried out by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and police against militants in Balochistan, according to security sources.

Security sources said the operation continued with coordinated ground and aerial actions targeting militant hideouts in the area.

During the latest operation in Saran Tangi, four militants were killed, taking the total number of militants killed during Operation Shaban to 71, the sources said.

They added that since July 5, a total of 109 militants had been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations conducted across the region.

Security sources said a large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of the slain militants, including M4 rifles, sub-machine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones and other equipment.

According to the sources, Operation Shaban will continue across Balochistan until the last militant is eliminated.
