Faisalabad: A suspect allegedly involved in the abduction of a five-year-old girl was killed in a police encounter in the Ghulam Muhammad Abad area of Faisalabad, police said.

According to police, the suspect had allegedly abducted five-year-old Fajar Noor and taken her to a butcher's shop with alleged criminal intent.

Police said the accused was traced through CCTV footage, which showed him taking the child into the shop.

A police team led by SHO Yousaf Shahzad Sapra and Sadhupura Check Post In-charge ASI Ahsan Butt launched an operation and the suspect was killed during an exchange of fire.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
