RAWALPINDI:Four terrorists have been killed by security forces during an intelligence based operation in Jattakabad area of Kalat district.

According to ISPR, a large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered during the operation.

In another incident, security forces conducted a series of clearance operations at Shadi Kaur area of tehsil Pasni in Gwadar District. During one of the operations, the lead force component, led by Major Wajahat Waheed, was targeted by an improvised explosive device. Major Wajahat Waheed, a son of the soil, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and embraced shahadat.

According to the ISPR, sanitization operations will continue to eliminate any other terrorists in the area. It said that security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to eliminating the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating four Indian-sponsored terrorists of Fitnat-ul-Hindustan in different areas of Kalat and Gwadar districts of Balochistan.

The president, in a statement, expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Major Wajahat Waheed during an operation against terrorists in the Shadi Kaur area of Gwadar district.

President Zardari commended Major Wajahat Waheed's supreme sacrifice for the defense of the motherland and the eradication of terrorism, extending his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family.

He appreciated the continuous sacrifices and professional services rendered by the security forces for maintaining peace and stability in the country and ensuring the protection of its citizens.

Reiterating the nation's resolve, the president affirmed that every conspiracy hatched by foreign sponsors of terrorists and their local facilitators would be thwarted.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended security forces for conducting successful operations against terrorists in Kalat and Gwadar.
