Rawalpindi: A potential fuel shortage has emerged in Rawalpindi and Islamabad due to disruptions in the supply of petroleum products caused by road closures and restrictions on commercial transport.According to Oil Tanker Association spokesperson Nauman Ali Butt, the movement of oil tankers has been temporarily suspended, severely affecting the supply chain. He stated that for the past two to three days, supply issues have persisted, with tankers facing entry restrictions at multiple points.The situation has been further aggravated by the arrival of foreign delegations in Islamabad, which has led to heavy traffic disruptions and restrictions on the entry of commercial vehicles, impacting the transportation of petroleum products.Reports indicate that oil supply vehicles meant for airports, including those serving Peshawar and Islamabad, are currently stranded at depots, raising concerns about possible disruption to aviation fuel supply.The association has appealed to authorities, including the Islamab ad administration, to take immediate notice and allow the entry of oil tankers to restore the supply system and prevent a full-blown shortage.
