Islamabad: An important review meeting about Electric Vehicles (EV) in the country was held under the Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif. The ongoing moves for promotion of EU in the country were reviewed in details in the meeting.

While addressing the meeting the PM directed the pace of ongoing moves for promoting EV in the country be further accelerated. In the prevailing regional situation and requirements of future , promotion of EV will not only lead to curtail import cost of fuel but also it is vitally important for environmental safety and protection of energy.

Transparency in the subsidy of electric motorcycles for low income groups be ensured under national EV policy, he added. PM issued directives for further accelerating the implementation of this scheme.

During the briefing it was told to the participants of meeting that several measures are underway for promotion of EV in the country.
