Islamabad: The funeral prayer in absentia for the mother of Senior Leader All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and Chairman of Jammmu Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmed Bhat was offered in Islamabad.She passed away on Sunday in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Her funeral was offered in Srinagar's Bag-e-Mehtab area, while the absentee prayer took place at the Housing Society National Police Foundation in Islamabad.The funeral prayer here in Islamabad was led by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi. A large number of political and religious leaders from Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, members of the journalist community, civil society representatives, and the Kashmiri community attended to pay their respects.Among the attendees were MNA Malik Muhammad Abrar, Altaf Hussain Wani, Syed Salahuddin, Mushtaq Askari, Abdul Rashid Turabi, Mahmood Ahmed Sagar, Ex Mayor Rawalpindi Sardar Naseem Khan, Naveed Malik, Khalid Qureshi, Zubair Khan, Colonel Shujaat, Sardar S haukat Advocate, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Advocate Parvez, Kashif Chaudhry, Zamurd Khan of Pakistan Sweet Home, Mir Abdul Ghani Sameem, Saeed Baig, Syed Usman, Habib-ur-Rahman, Fayyaz Tanoli, Muhammad Saleem, Chaudhry Nazir, Akhlaq Masood Sandhu, Haji Farooq, Latif Dar, Chaudhry Khalil, Zakir Naqvi, Sheikh Shabbir, Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rahman, Malik Naeem of Java, Zafar Bakhtawari, Samiullah Dar, Sanaullah Dar, Ghani Sameem, Malik Yousuf, Yasir Bhat, Aqeel Ahmed Tarin, Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, Mubarak Shah, Atif Bukhari, Engineer Hamad Mir, Amjad Mir, Nakeer Shah, Faheem-ul-Haq, Ishtiaq Bhat, Aamir Mehboob, and all leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, including Salim Wani, Rafiq Dar, and Farooq Rehmani.Ghulam Mohammad Safi expressed deep sorrow over her passing. He highlighted that from the very beginning of the freedom struggle, the late mother of Altaf Ahmed Bhat and Zaffar Akbar Bhat had opened their home to freedom fighters. By raising her sons in the movement, she sent a powerful message: mothers of oc cupied Jammu and Kashmir are not only shoulder-to-shoulder with men in the fight for freedom but are also capable of extraordinary sacrifice and dedication.After the absentee funeral prayer, attendees visited Altaf Ahmed Bhat's home to offer condolences and recite prayers. They expressed solidarity with the family in their grief and prayed that Allah grants the departed the highest place in Jannah and gives patience and strength to the bereaved.
