Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly condemned Israel's death penalty law targeting Palestinians, calling it an act of worst state terrorism and part of a systematic campaign against the Palestinian people.In a statement issued from Mansoorah, Lahore, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the ongoing oppression, coercive measures, and discriminatory laws imposed by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories constitute open state terrorism and grave crimes against humanity. He warned that such measures, including laws enabling capital punishment against Palestinians, reflect a deliberate policy aimed at ethnic cleansing and the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that Israel's actions over the past decades demonstrate a consistent pattern of brutality, which he said has now evolved into an overt system of apartheid that strips Palestinians of their basic human rights. He highlighted reports of torture of prisoners, inhuman e and degrading treatment, and denial of food and essential facilities as clear evidence that the Israeli state does not adhere to international law, moral standards, or humanitarian values.He urged the international community, particularly the Muslim world, to move beyond verbal condemnations and take concrete steps to halt what he described as Zionist aggression and ongoing genocide. He called for immediate and comprehensive diplomatic, economic, and trade boycotts of Israel to isolate it globally.The Jamaat-e-Islami chief also demanded that international courts initiate war crimes proceedings against Israel and that effective global pressure be exerted to secure the release of Palestinian prisoners. He emphasized the need for unity within the Muslim Ummah to adopt a clear and decisive strategy, warning that failure to act would embolden further aggression.Calling on Pakistan to play a proactive and leading role, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stressed that Islamabad should raise the issue forcefully at all int ernational forums and extend full support to the Palestinian people's freedom.He said the issue of Palestine is not only a concern for the Muslim world but for all humanity, and that silence in the face of oppression amounts to complicity.
