Upon her arrival, she was warmly received by Chairman Board Tameezuddin Khero, Secretary Munawar Ali Mithani, and officials of the institution.
During the visit, the Chairperson was given a detailed briefing on various initiatives, projects, and training programs being implemented by BBSHRD. The meeting focused on providing skill training and employment opportunities in different sectors for deserving women and their family members under the Benazir Hunarmand Program, as well as on strengthening mutual collaboration and institutional cooperation between BISP and BBSHRD.
It was informed during the briefing that registration of more than 5,000 members of BISP beneficiary families in Sindh for skill training has been completed, exceeding the earlier target of 3,000 individuals. The primary objective of these training programs is to equip members of deserving families with market-relevant skills, enable self-reliance, and provide access to dignified employment opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid said that skill development was the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who believed that 'skill is your asset.' She noted that global demand for skilled manpower is steadily increasing and emphasized the need to train women and youth in line with modern market requirements to fully benefit from these opportunities.
The Chairperson further stated that while the government has the necessary resources, effective results can only be achieved through coordinated efforts, mutual collaboration, and shared responsibility among institutions. She stressed the importance of focusing on sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, and residential skill courses, which offer significant employment potential at both national and international levels.
Highlighting the importance of awareness, Senator Rubina Khalid said that this is the era of digital media and there is a pressing need to educate the public about the value of skill training. She also emphasized that internationally recognized certifications are essential for overseas employment and should be ensured within training programs.
The meeting was attended by Director General BISP Sindh Sanaullah Rind, Outreach Consultant Naveed Khan, and other concerned officers. At the end of the meeting, participants offered prayers for the high status of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
