Islamabad: Government has decided to upgrade Safe city project and transform it into Capital Smart City Model (CSC) to make Islamabad more safe and secure.
Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Safe city headquarters Islamabad.
He presided over a special meeting and the progress in regard to phase-2 of Safe city was reviewed in the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that all the ongoing work on phase-2 will be completed till May 30.
Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi directed to ensure completion of Safe city project within prescribed period.
Mohsin Naqvi said central command and control system will be upgraded in Islamabad. Policing , traffic and civic amenities system will be integrated. All the resources are being utilized to make Islamabad a secure city.
Approval for new design of safe city headquarter was given in the meeting as well.
IG Islamabad police gave detailed briefing to interior minister on Safe city project wherein it was told 75 percent work has been completed in phase-2.
It was told in the briefing installation of state of the art cameras and monitoring system is underway for the protection of the citizens. 152 kilometer fiber optics cable has been laid. Testing process will start following completion of work in phase -2 till May 20.
The meeting was attended by interior secretary Khurram Agha, DG FIA Dr Usman Anwar, IG Islamabad police Ali Nasir Rizvi, DG Safe city Haroon Joya and senior officers.
