Hafiz Naeemur Rehman hails Sheikh Ghulam Hassan’s legacy

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Wednesday expressed deep grief over the death of former JI Emir of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Ghulam Hassan, describing his passing as a great loss not only for Kashmiris but for the entire Islamic movement.

In a condolence message to the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami in Indian held Kashmir, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said Sheikh Hassan dedicated his entire life to the struggle for the supremacy of Islam, the right to self-determination for Kashmiris, and the intellectual and moral guidance of Muslims in the region.

He said the late leader remained steadfast despite political repression, imprisonment and continuous pressure, always raising his voice for truth and justice. 'He played an unforgettable role in the Kashmir freedom movement through his leadership, guidance and national services,' Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said.

The JI chief said Sheikh Ghulam Hassan endured hardships in Indian prisons with courage and never compromised on his principles. He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the late leader's family, including his son Nisar-ul-Hassan, who embraced martyrdom during the Kashmir resistance movement.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the late Kashmiri leader's services and struggle would continue to inspire future generations.
