Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has termed the ban on student unions as an attack on the intellectual, educational, and democratic development of the youth, calling it a conspiracy to deprive the nation of future leadership.
Speaking at a convention organized by Islami Jamiat Talaba at Science College, Wahdat Road, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman lauded Islami Jamiat Talaba's efforts in challenging the student union ban in court and emphasized the need to awaken the entire nation for the cause of establishing an Islamic system.
'From Hamas, we learn the lessons of resistance and perseverance,' Hafiz Naeemur Rehman remarked, adding that despite losing entire families to Zionist atrocities, the people of Palestine have refused to bow to oppression. He criticized the country's outdated governance system, stating, 'The protectors of this corrupt system consider themselves divine. Together, we must accelerate the struggle against this exploitative order.'
He commended Islami Jamiat Talaba for teaching the youth the values of life and preparation for the hereafter. He urged members of the organization to raise awareness about injustices in the education system and actively work to address them.
Highlighting economic disparities, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman pointed out that the combined provincial budget of Rs. 1,700 billion remains unaccounted for, while the education system remains class-based and exploitative. "The mafias control the system, leaving 27.5 million children out of school and denying 80% of families their basic right to education. Public schools are being handed over to NGOs, and the state of health and other sectors is equally dire," he stated. He reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami's commitment to uproot this corrupt system and called for making the fight against oppression a top priority, given the current national and global circumstances.
During his speech, he also shared details of his recent visit to Qatar, where he met the leadership of Hamas and a journalist from Al Jazeera whose family was targeted and killed by Israeli forces. Despite the immense personal loss, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman praised the journalist's unwavering resilience.
