Gaza: Chief Leader Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas - Palestine Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah has written letter to Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif prior to the 81stsession of the United Nations General Assembly.
Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah wrote 'I write to Your Excellency at a highly sensitive juncture in the history of our people and our national cause, as we approach the High-Level Week of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly, amid rapidly unfolding developments that, in our view, threaten not only the lives and security of Palestinians, but also the future of Palestine and the unity of its land and people, as well as the ability to realize the Palestinian people's right to liberation and self-determination'.
Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah wrote 'We have approached the efforts aimed at ending the war and consolidating the ceasefire with responsibility and a positive spirit, and we accepted the roadmap put forward by the Peace Council for the transition to the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan, including the arrangements it sets out for completing implementation of the agreement and moving towards ending the war. However, the continued violations and the occupation regime's refusal to comply with the requirements of this process place the future of the agreement at serious risk'.
Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah wrote 'Following all that our people have endured through war, destruction, displacement, and the loss of tens of thousands of their sons and daughters, our people in the Gaza Strip continue to face persistent violations of the ceasefire, as well as continued restrictions on access, relief efforts, and reconstruction. At the same time, settlement expansion, displacement policies, and annexation measures are accelerating in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, alongside the grave conditions and violations to which Palestinian prisoners and detainees are subjected'.
Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah wrote 'We do not view these developments as separate issues or transient crises. Rather, we see their cumulative effect as posing a danger that extends beyond the present moment to the geographic, demographic, and political reshaping of the Palestinian reality, and to the imposition of facts on the ground that may prove difficult to reverse in the future'.
Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah wrote 'In keeping with our responsibility as the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, we place before Your Excellency an enclosed political briefing memorandum presenting, in a focused manner, developments in the Gaza Strip; the course of settlement expansion, annexation, and displacement in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem; the conditions of Palestinian prisoners and detainees; as well as our assessment of the strategic implications of these developments and the principal priorities that, in our view, the current stage requires'.
Dr. Khalil Al-Hayyah wrote 'In addressing Your Excellency, we highly value the standing and role of your esteemed country, as well as the positions it has expressed in support of Palestine and the rights of its people. At the same time, we recognize that the current stage places the Palestinian cause and the region before critical challenges that require preserving the unity of the Palestinian land and people, preventing the consolidation of the realities of occupation, annexation, and displacement, and safeguarding Palestinian national rights, foremost among them our people's right to self-determination and to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
We hope that the enclosed memorandum will contribute to placing these developments and their repercussions before Your Excellency at a time when the eyes of the world are turning towards the meetings in New York, and when these meetings may provide an opportunity to restore the Palestinian cause and the rights of our people to the forefront of international responsibility'.
