Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has given indication to register case against the respective authorities for killing dogs.

The case against killing and genocide of stray dogs in Islamabad came up for hearing in IHC Thursday.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro sought reply from CDA and Municipal Corporation.

The court gave indication if verification about killing of dogs by concerned authorities is made then case will be registered.

The court accepted the plea from petitioner Neelofar for becoming party in the prime case.

IHC issued notice in the case against killing the dogs.

IHC remarked CDA and Municipal Corporation should file reply regarding October 9 incident.

The woman who was eye witness in seeing the dead dogs on October 9 appeared in the court.

The court made the statement of the woman who saw the dead dogs lying in vehicle part of record.

The eye witness woman said she saw a vehicle near CDA office on October 9 wherein hundreds of dogs were lying dead.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro said if verification of matter of killing the dog is made then FIR will be registered.

The counsel Altamash Saeed took the plea CDA and Municipal Corporation kill the dogs by firing bullets. A policy was formed in 2020 to stop this process. Court should seek explanation from concerned authorities and stop this process.

The court while seeking reply from CDA and Municipal Corporation adjourned the hearing of the case.
